Hi im a student in London, but im going off to do a work placement next year. I am being considered for a company in Ireland (its a holiday park, a reception/guest relations position) and they have asked me to provide them with an annual salary figure. I have no idea what the going rate would be, so am not sure what i should ask for...anyone got any ideas? |

Not 15,000, that's quite probably below minimum wage, which is 8.65 per hour. Try 23,000 as an absolute minimum to survive on in Dublin. Having said that, I earned just over 18,000 in one of my jobs in Dublin and survived, but only just. Have a look at www.irishjobs.ie, www.monster.ie, www.jobs.ie and google some more to get a rough idea.
Obviously, it'll depend on your experience also. There's a link below to the average wages, but it's done by sector so may not apply to you at all. It's worth a look anyway though. |

Depends on what part of the country you're considering relocating to. Dublin is the most expensive part of Ireland in which to live and therefore the wages tend to reflect this. For a reception / guest relations role in Dublin I would expect €23-€25 k (£15.5k -£16.5k approx), in other parts of Ireland I would expect between €20-€23k (£13.5k £15.5 approx).

The minumum wage per hour in Ireland is about €8.70, maybe you could ask for €9.50/10.00 per hour. I used to get paid €9.10 per hour at the tourist office (2 years ago). That would be about 18-20K per annum. Thinking of it, maybe you could ask a little more! |

Very difficult to say without a precise location. For Dublin I wouldnt go below 25K a year.
