Its wonderful. People are great, the countryside is amazing. The terrain is diverse depending on which part of the island you are on, etc. Nice cities, with lots to offer. Very rural areas where the locals have lots to share. I've traveled quite a bit and can't wait to go back once again. Its one of my favorite places to visit.

If you are thinking of going, you must.

It's beautiful. It rains a lot, which is why everything is so green, but it's definitely worth the trip if you can ever get there. You have big cities like Dublin and Cork with lots of shopping, entertainment, etc, and then you also have the smaller more country towns with more opportunitites to interact with locals than in the cities. Especially in the west of Ireland, the landscape is very rugged. There are many things to see. Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle, Galway...it's all gorgeous and fun. If you go in the fall it's cheaper and less crowded than in the spring. Here are some links from the Irish Tourist board... failte Ireland... http://www.failteireland.ie/our_sites

It's great! It's very unique, there's tons of stuff to see and do and the weather isn't as bad as people make it out to be! Oh and yes, it is as green as everyone says ;-)
If you were coming here I would recommend going to Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford, Kilkenny, Galway and especially Kerry which is visually stunning and the people are the friendliest you'll ever meet! Also Donegal and Belfast are great if you were planning on going up the North.
It's becoming increasingly multi-cultural here over the past two or three years, partly a good thing, partly bad. It's quite expensive compared to most other European countries but we have a very high standard of living. There's great shopping, brill restaurants and cool nightlfe. Oh and it's very safe.
For tourists it's still a great place and always will be so come on over! ;-)
