Right now, expensive.

It's green and beautiful for a reason - it rains a lot.

Public transport outside of Dublin is very bad.

However, restaurants have improved dramatically in recent years, and the Republic of Ireland was the first country to introduce a smoking ban in all workplaces, including pubs. So far it's been a huge success. It's great being able to enjoy a drink without someone else's nasty cigarette smoke!

I visited there a few years ago, and life over there looks great as far as I can tell. For one, the economy has been rocking since joining the European Union. It has a great mix of modern and traditional that is refreshing to me, an American. I love how people there are really into culture--literature, theater, and music everywhere! It's like there is always live music playing, or someone singing. The people are so friendly, it doesn't even matter if you're from somewhere else, they treat you like you're family. And the pubs are SO MUCH FUN!!! I would totally go back there, and I highly recommend going to visit if you haven't been. If you have Irish roots, people are also so happy to help you find your family history/genealogy. And yes, it earns the name "Emerald Isle"--so gorgeously green!

its a great place to live, we have come a long way and life is good here the only downfall would be the weather, if we had that sorted it would officially be the best place on earth to live.

It's fantastic. Stunning scenery, great cities, full of culture, brilliant shopping (not just the usual UK stores), loads of pubs, clubs and restaurants, fantastic beaches (some of the best in the world). Feels ancient and modern at the same time, a sense of humour that's unique to Ireland - it manages to be cutting yet warm and friendly at the same time.

Life is good in Ireland. It's not crowded and a good few built up areas are fairly spacious anyway

In cities it can be crowded, down the country it is nowhere near crowded, and yes it is green and beautiful.

Ireland is definately unique. The east is busier tehn the west cause dublin is on this side. Its like anywhere though, in the sense that the further away from the cities the quieter it is.
Galway is the exception, theres such a great atmosphere there it never feels packed.

Economically the country is slowing down and our government are a bit all over the place with certain things..For example the health system, hospitals and that, is in a shambles.

In saying that it is a lovely place to live. No part of the country is more then 7 hours drive away give or take..and thats the furthest north to the furthest south!!!! Great for weekends away.

its great :)
i was born in Australia and moved here as a teenager...and i love it too bits. It's expensive to move to, but when you go on holidays with a strong currency like the euro, its the BEST!! :)
and its not crowded, even the cities dont seen crowded. i live 20 mins outside a major city, Cork, and you wouldn't even know it.
rains not great, but the people make up for it :)

lotg_4eva
amazin....its gorgeous and actually does look like all the pics so...and it has a population density of like 57 so were not 2 crowded...

?ouise 2 ?

hi you
over all the cities and towns in Ireland is far from been crowed with the exception of Dublin city you take cork city the second biggest city in the republic or Ireland you could walk about the streets of it and dump into many of your friends or people you know or work with as for it been green i know we have more then i fear share of rain and known for been very green but i say we would not be greener then any other place i have travel out side of Ireland to many other places but what i will say is we have a totally different shades of green here you find hard to see any where outside of Ireland and we seem to have a totally different type of grass to

hmmmmm Eggy Weggys
