It's not that you feel it if you don't have anything to do with the feud... I mean, I work in Waterford and live outside the city but when I drive by Ballybeg in the morning I don't hear bullets whistling or anything!
I don't know much about the feud, I just know that at some stage they had to shut down the hospital because some guys tried to go into the ICU and finish off a guy from the other family... last thing I heard was that the ICU was closed to all visitors but I'm not sure it still is now. Sorry I can't be of more help... but I'm sure the good Waterford folks on Yahoo Answers will be able to tell you more! |

I was in Hospital when they closed it down, (A+E) was still open, it was quite scary because of the 14 year old who got shot by a rival gang, he had about 48 hits from a pellet gun (although the following morning he was walking about smoking outside), it was quite intimidating because of the amount of family members that showed up, around 40-50 people, it was closed down because they were expecting the rival gang to turn up.
but it is just like most places who have gang culture they all want to dominate their own corner, so there will always be trouble until they can all learn to live peacefully. |

its not at ballybeg for a start....its mostly in the halting sites, larcheville and st.herblain park! couldnt tell ya what the background is, you'll have to ask the travellers that im afraid....and its not like the wild west here
