What Type Of Plug Is Used In The Republic Of Ireland?

Do They Use The Standard 3 Pin Plug Like in the UK and Northern Ireland, Or the 2 Pin Like Western Europe or something else?
And is it at the same voltage As the UK?

3 pin plug like we have in UK.
We had a holiday there 2 years ago, that's how I know.

Well Hello there ;)!
3 pin plug!

Orla C
Square 3-pin plugs, yes, and same voltage.

e_mcsorley
The standard plug in the UK and Northern Ireland.

brazilspatrick
Its a 3 pin plug but best be safe as hotel shavers are 2 plug

Same as the UK, and the voltage is the same. You can use 2 pin plugs if you need to, just push down the lever in the third hole of the socket with a cotton bud or a stick.

If you use two pin like Western Europe, you can easily buy an adaptor for no more than £3 or so

I think the voltage is the exact same also.

British Standard BS 1363 specifies the type of domestic AC power plugs and sockets most commonly used in the United Kingdom,, Ireland, Ireland, have equivalent standards - IS 401 & 411, MS 589 and SS 145 respectively.

so they use 3 pin plug
