What are houses in Ireland like?

How do people decorate their homes? How many bedrooms in an average Irish house?

Sorry I completely misread your question first time around, it's been edited

I'm not sure what the average house size is but I'd say it's probably 3.

I don't think there's anything unique about the way Irish people decorate their homes, fire places are usually the centre pieces of living rooms, open plan was popular there for a while, I'm not sure it still is now though..

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge
All of our houses are made of clay, painted white with a thatched roof.
We usually have just the one room, we use a curtain to separate the bedroom from the living area.
Homes are decorated with pictures of the Pope and JFK.
Toilets are al fresco.
We take a bath once a year whether we need it or not.

gaspipe
basicaly there big circles with one room with tatched roofs and a big hole in the ceiling for the smoke from the fire to get out, the fires usualy in the centre of the room, and the whole family sits around the fire boiling potatoes and telling stories about leprechauns, and some have an out house if there wealthy!

no not really everyones different heres some links:

GreenBrigade
they are square with four window and a door at the front, a white fence and no side or back.

are you another daft american? do you think our houses are all the same?

different streets, towns, cities villages and hamlets have different styles of housing and people have individual tastes in decoration, some are big, some are small. My house has 1 small bedroom and 3 large bedrooms

Our houses are actually just mud and a few sticks.

There is a population of around 5million in Ireland, that's a lot of different tastes to cater for..

There is no set bog standard criteria for bedrooms. The bigger city's would be high rise apartments or flats, a lot of interest in dock property's during the good old days...

The rural areas would consist of mainly large farm houses...

As for decoration ... Everybody is different, hell, I can't agree on a pair of curtains with the lovely Katherine (My beloved leg Iron )

Modern houses generally follow a neutral colour scheme- yellows, pale golds etc, which has been fashionable here for the past number of years. Recently, many rooms have been painted a basic white colour, with one wall painted boldly for emphasis. They are generally neatly furnished and well laid out.
Most houses have 4 bedrooms, 1 main bathroom, 1 living room and usually a kitchen/dining room.
