It depends on the animal. If it's a standard pet you can apply for a pet passport. If you get one then the animal will not need to be quarantined.

My aunt's cat was in quarantine for six months.

No matter what, it's six months quarantine (assuming a domestic animal, cat or dog) and you have to pay for their boarding. So if it's only for holiday, I suggest leaving it behind.

if the animal you are bringing in has a vet certificate for the necessary vaccinations you should be ok you could always get in touch with D.E.F.R.A they helped me when i exported a puppy to Jordan in Saudi you can probably get some info from the web good luck
