What clothes should we pack for a trip to Ireland this month?

My daughter is twelve years old and going for nine days with my mom.

Thank you to everyone who left thoughtful answers. She does know not to wear cliched green, and it sounds like we need to pack for even cooler and wetter weather than we expected! (She does not want to be the silly American wearing shorts!)

a good light weight raincoat that can be put in your backpack or purse. it rains on and off and you'll need it. i hear its been raining A LOT over there this summer. other than that check weather.com for the ave temps over there now. but jeans and tee shirts (for guy) is usually good. sometimes shorts can be worn.

well its been raining here for the past few weeks and it dosn't look like it will get better for the next 2 weeks at least (according to the tv) so id say pack long trousers, jumpers, t-shirts(just incase) and a rainjacket and umbrella

The everyday dilemma of Ireland. How to dress..

Get a bit of everything, especially Rain Gear and something to protect against the wind. A warmer jacket maybe.

Unless you come from Greenland, the temperature here won't be too much (max 23/25) especially with the awfull weather we've had recently. (today was half good).

On my flight back from NY at the end of May some american tourists were wearing shorts, Tshirts and Sandals..... when the captain announced the weather in Dublin prior to landing most of them thought it was a joke... (May 29th, 8AM, Wind, Rain and 3C)...

Weather is always changing so be prepared for everything..

By the looks of things you probably would want to bring alot of wet gear cause it's raining very heavily and don't wear anything green it such a cliche. when you arrive get yourself but be sure to enjoy yourself and visit as much as possible.

Wear what you would wear in New York in october would be my best guess, I hope they have fun

Get one of those cheap St. Patricks day green plastic hats. You'll fit right in.
