I live in Dublin and there are some great places to visit in the south and like with everywhere it really depends on what you are looking for and what you are interested in.

Where ever you pick you will get great scenery, great night life etc I would recommend either Wexford, Waterford or Kilkenny
Kilkenny has a great name for people who want to have a good time but you can also visit Kilkenny castle and there is loads of other places to visit, they city can get quite busy with hen & stag parties and can be really hectic at night but is a really beautiful place to visit

Waterford is beauiful, it has beautiful beaches and coves. The city itself is quite lively and a nice place to visit
Wexford also has some lovely beaches and on a nice day it can really nice

I live in Kilkenny, it's a really nice place, it's a medieval town, and the sunniest in the country! But Wexford has nice beaches if that's what you're after. And Waterford is the only proper city down here, Kilkenny has the title of city, but it's not. Kilkenny has great pubs and nightlife too. |

The best beaches and the hottest weather in ireland.
Really nice place for a summer break. Full of irish tourists and not much foreigners. Alot of dublin ppl head south east towards waterford(beautiful); go to dungarvan and tramore and waterford city. Wexford; the whole coast is beautiful and great for a swim.
East Cork: Nice place, loadsa great towns for a few pints in.
West Cork: Beauttiful Rugged scenery with crazy sheep.
(South west of ireland)
Kerry is the jem along with west cork.. beautiful scenery and amazing ppl. Kerry is gettin a bit too many american tourists for me though. |

Go to Waterford-it has everything. The city would put you in mind of how Dublin used to be one time. It has a lovely atmosphere and the people are friendly. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. It also has a town called Tramore which is a very popular holiday resort. So, go to Waterford and enjoy it. I know I'll be going back! |
