I thought he was absolutely brilliant. I am not really a fan of Gerry's and I would normally say that he is better at radio than TV but he looked very well last night and did a great job. I think he would be great if he took it on full time. He is so much more relaxed than Pat Kenny. The show was so much more relaxed and felt like was watching an Irish version of the Jonathan Ross show. Well done Gerry. |

and i thought tommy teirnan was hilarious too!!!!
i think he should take it over...
imagine him on the toy show??? it would be gas!!!
pat kenny makes ya feel uncomfortable watching him!!!
and it was the first time i actually laughed properly at the late late show!!

I thought he was excellent. I don't normally watch it because I don't have a lot of time for pat kenny. I thought Gerry did a great job and he looked really well too. |

yeah, he was great, pat kenny needs a good kick up the hole, he is only able to ask the questions he has written down before the show, gerry was able to ask questions relating to their previous answers.
rte shoud sack kenny and give gerry the gig. |

Pat Kenny was a teacher and taught my Dad in school.....apparantly he was a boring b*astard then too! xD
I rarely watch the show, but Gerry Ryan has to beat Pat Kenny. He's so annoying and has no charisma whatsoever.
Gerry Ryan isnt exactly a model, but if he can induce a few laughs and bring a bit of freshness, bring him on! |

my mother loved him anyway lol and she thought he was much better and honest than pat kenny! but i have to say i love pats idiotic ways on the late late toy show every christmas! he hasnt a clue what hes doin and its the only time i watch the late late! |

My main problem with pat kenny is that he is hugely overpaid. He gets about a million per year when even half that amount would still be a very generous wage for anyone. Its disgraceful that we are expected to fork out more and more every year for tv licences in order to keep this rubbish on our screens. In relation to Gerry Ryan, I think he did a fine job. And when he revealed 'theres one for everybody in the audience' It must have been a dream come true ! |

I enjoy Gerry Ryan on the radio, but did not rate his Late Late show as highly. I don't watch Pat Kenny very often now either. He went down very much in my estimation after that land grab attempt. Squatters' Rights is nothing more than legalized theft. Pat's background is in law, which somehow makes him even more opportunistic. And he is rather overpaid for the indifferent performance he provides. |

I only seen the wee bit were he was interviewing Gary Lightbody, and I didn't think he was anything fabulous. To be honest, I think the Late Late would be better if Pat Kenny wasn't the presenter, there's something about him that I don't quite like |

It was an improvement on the normal show, but surely there must be a fresh face out there that can have a weekend chat show in Ireland, I'm so bored of the Late Late, and Tubridy... |

I think he was trying to pitch himself for the job when Pat Kenny leaves because he would probably be the main contender apart from Ryan Tubridy. |
