What do the Irish mean when they call you a dudly?

I have ben called a dudly by an irishman after talking to him for a long time when i was in Sligo last summer.
But now i am very eager to know what they mean with that.

I'm Irish and I've never heard of that one. He probably said, 'you're deadly', which is a compliment, like saying you're cool. But in our accent it can sound like dudly I suppose

wizard_man130
you don't have to worry the term deadly in irish measn very cool. i will prove it
this is a past from an internet sight:

Da (n): father
Dander (n): a leisurely stroll
Danny boy (n): twenty pounds in money
Deadly (a): very cool
Deadner, give a (n): to knee someone in the side of their thigh

hope this helps

Paul

i'd say he said deadly and the accent threw you. deadly is good though.

kareno209
Dudly is a word country people use for stupid

Anne K T
I agree with the previous answerer he was probably saying you were deadly (in a west of Ireland accent) deadly is a compliment in Ireland BTW.

Emma Tierney
If you hit me on the arm and I called you a dudly, it would be me trying to be nice but sayin' don't do that again!! You can also be a dudly when you do something daft...
There's an easy solution... call him Jeffrey or Joanna!! He might understand!!
Horse it into ya cynthia - say this one!!
Don't worry, it's not an insult!!
Hope this helps!!xx
