I am from N>Ireland, lived in London, Saudi Arabia and now the USA. I married an American!! Yes, Ireland is beautiful and the people are friendly. It is very modern and clean. I visit as often as I can. If you go there you will love it but it is expensive. My daughter is going there for a few months and hopes to get work, she has dual citizenship. I hope she does, but the economy is bad everywhere now. So save your money and go when you can afford it. It is best to stay in Bed & Breckfast homes as you meet the local people.

im from tipperary in ireland and i love my town and all of ireland so much i would recommend it to anyone to come visit it really is beautiful when its not raining lol and ps i love u is my fav film too ha ha

Ireland is a very beautiful country - I am originally from the UK and we moved here just over 3 years ago, and wished we had done a lot sooner!

I find it a very friendly place, people have the time to talk to you, its not all romantic though - Dublin is a nightmare traffic wise, but great shops, Belfast has great craic and I go out once every couple of months up there as it is a wicked city!

The west of Ireland is breath taking beautiful, we just have to rely on the gods for a decent bloody summer!

hey! i'm irish and living in ireland all my life i love that film!! well if you ask me it is like that here with everyone in the area knowing each other its great the sense of community in the countryside more so than in the cities as you can imagine! in the extras of the dvd cecelia ahearn who wrote the book even says that its an ireland that we can be proud of because its a real view of the ireland today not what some films protray ireland to be like eg. leprechauns. well i love it here and love waking up and looking out my window and just seeing fields and cows! ha!! what is Canada like??

Anyway Ireland is like any other country, there are decent friendly people but then there are very nasty people, particularly in Dublin city centre. You shouldn't always base your opinions on what you see in films.

I don't know what "they" say about the Irish, but I say that Gerard Butler (Scottish by the way) is extremely hot. I also, love the Irish accent.

Your ancestors might be from Ireland, love, but I'm afraid we don't care. To us you will be just another tourist.

Of course you will be treated with the same friendliness and courtesy as every tourist gets, but having Irish ancestry is nothing special in Ireland - think about it. Absolutely come for a visit.

I've never seen PS I Love You, but I have seen Gerard Butler in Timeline and he certainly is a bit of alright - only he's not Irish and he certainly doesn't present an accurate picture of Irish men.
