I'm from the US and can honestly say that everyone I've ever talked to that's been to Ireland (me included) thinks that the Irish are among the friendliest and most fun people that we've ever met. And yes, there are a lot of stereotypes, but they're mostly made about Irish-Americans over here. People crack jokes about drinking...but I mean, they do it in good fun. No one has any serious vendetta out against the Irish that I know of. Honestly, I was blown away by how hospitable and hysterical everyone in Ireland was. I had the best time with the people I met.
I, and the majority of the people over here, think you're brilliant.
Also, the vast majority of girls in the US are completely wooed by Irish accents.
I'm currently trying to take classes in Gaelic and it's a bit complicated, but it's not horribly impossible.
Hope that answered your question. :) |

Are you saying that the Irish call their second language Gaelic? They call it Irish. You've spent too much time in Hawaii, Dude. |

I get on fine with Irish people, but I wouldn't touch an Irish man with a ten-foot barge-pole unless he was under 30. The younger ones are far more likely to be house-trained, you see. The older ones are ruined by their mammies. |

Gaeilge, not Gaelic, not Irish.People who actually speak it call it Gaeilge.Three sons all fluent Gaeilgors. The ones that can't speak it or struggle with it call it Irish. |
