I dont know what rs is but if I was offered a holiday in Uk I would take it. There are many nice places to see and lots of beautiful buildings and people there, just like everywhere in the world. You can not judge a nation or a country on the basis of what you read or see in the media.
As for the Irish I am Irish so am biased so my answer is that we are very friendly happy by nature and try to please everyone, especially ourselves. Come visit and find out for yourself. You will have a brilliant time. |

When I think of england I always think of dull weather for some reason.
And Ireland is the best place in the whole world. |

england for 2 weeks?
i'd think of going to Cornwall or Devon, that's all.
so not the real england.
i think of either wet scenery that isn't that great or big wet cities and urban horribleness |

I was born in England but I live in Ireland now. There are some beautiful places in England, far from chaos of the cities. Places like Northumberland, The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Exmoor, The Isle of Wight, Cornwall, Herefordshire and Worcestershire all steeped in history and have stunning countryside and friendly people.
City people are generally more stressed out and less friendly whichever country you are in but you can't generalise that people are "horrible". Very few places in the UK are "high society" I think you are thinking of the Queen and Buckingham Palace perhaps? There are posh places and posh people but they are outnumbered by ordinary people going about their ordinary lives.
Bear in mind the population of the UK is over 60 million people, the Republic of Ireland has a population of just about 4 million so the Uk probably feels much more "crowded".
I can honestly say that the majority of Irish people I have met in the 4 years I have lived here have been friendly and welcoming but I live in the countryside, I have very little experience of city folk I try not to go to cities if I can help it. |
