I lived in Ireland for 14 years, while living there I found the Irish in general to be a friendly bunch of people, but then again I am a little biased as my husband and children are all Irish.

I think you're the friendliest nation in the world! funny and so welcoming!
that's one of the reasons why I often visit you!

Sailon
Actually you Irish are a hard workin bunch !!

As immigrants into the US you proved to stand the test of time!

And even as recently Ireland was in a pretty bad slump for a while. Well you seemed to get yourself out of that and from what I understand your economy is lookin pretty darn good !!

Here's to the good that the Irish have helped to do as their part in the world...

i am from an irish decent and i am 50% irish and i love it. i am very proud to be irish. i would love to travel or even live in ireland someday so in other words i like the irish

I think you're no better, worse or different than anyone else. Stereotypes are stupid.

LirpyLayne
I think you ROCK!

solostarr18
i think you're humans.....and i don't know you so can't really say. don't have any typical sterotypes tho.

jatelf72
The people who think stereotypes are true are idiots and have no clue to what they are talking about.

hmm...some of my dearest friends in the world are irish, in galway...that said-

witty, very sarcastic, very fun, understanding. hardworking but not afraid to have a good time.

a titch on the racist side, that one was interesting to learn, but i attribute it to people of varied ethnicities/colors only RECENTLY coming to ireland (i heard some terms used in galway pubs that are far from pc and very retro in the states)...interesting thing. not meant as an insult at all, and certainly the irish will not be starting the kkk anytime soon, but attitudes towards immigrants, travelers, etc are very interesting.

Before going to Ireland, that's what I thought. I thought Irish are people who are drunk all the time and all their life is about beer. Oh I miss Ireland so much. I studied in Dublin for three years and I realized that I was wrong. I stayed in Shankill in the first year, what a lovely area. Dublin is just amazing, I haven't been there since 2003, wonder how it changed! No matter how things change, I know that the people won't. So kind, so generous and so helpful. My three years in Ireland were amazing. Whenever I get the chance, I will visit Dublin again for sure.

i love irish people. my dads from ireland and he pretty much sticks to his circle of irish friends here in america. i find that they are a very loyal group of people, whenever anything unfotunate happens to someone in the irish community here in the city people are always having benefits and helping out financially. they are always up for a laugh, and i enjoy listening and learning from them. think they are great craic--yeah they drink but most of them are not drunks, they just like to be social so they all go to pubs. i mean not everyone is perfect there are still people who are over the top, arrogant, annoying, etc. but the ones im familiar with are great! =)

My Wife who has put up with me for 36 years so far is 1st generation Irish American.
My late Father in Law was the hardest working and generous man I ever met.
My late Mother in Law was a sweet heart a true Saint on earth.
Now my brothers & sisters (3 of each) in laws that's another story, but then again there were born here so they're more American then Irish.

Irisheyes
I am Irish , so I might be a little biased. But I love our country and our people!!!

Éire
We are very proud of ourselfs no matter what anyone else says :)

I am Irish and German. I have been drunk enough to see the leprechans. I love my Irish heritage. Anyone want an Irish car boomb?

color_design_jewelry
Well, I think Irish people are just like everybody else really. And now that the British government in Northern Ireland is making a real effort at Catholic Economic Integration, the Republic and the North are becoming more alike every day. I know Ireland as a country that has a lot of agriculture and horseracing and a growing high-tech job field.
