I didn't realize that Ireland was a third world country that you'd need to bone up on. I guess work on your Guiness drinking.

Mark C
There are no known ailments common to Ireland that are extraordinary. No shots for you!

None are necessary for going to Ireland.

EDIT: I've traveled in Europe numerous times. From your questions, I'm thinking maybe this is your first trip. It's pretty much much like the states (If that is where you are??). The towns have doctors, stores, pharmacies, etc..

They have a lot prettier stuff than we do, but other than that you are going to be able to find most of the same things you are used to seeing where you live.

Have fun!!!

lynno
none what so ever, just take them before you go as we don't want you bringing your germs from your country in to IRELAND thank you very much.

esoteric_noodles
its not a third world country

Claire
None needed!
You can drink the water too.

None, Ireland is a first world country in Europe, we are not rampant with disease.

you dont need any shots before coming to ireland. If you were planning on taking part in extreme sports, or working with animals then i guess you could get a tetanus shot before coming over as a precaution , but you can get those here if need be anyway

Orla C
None, that I know of.

Ive been to Ireland dozens of times, I am not aware that you need special immunizations, but my shot record is like 30 pages long, so if you do I prolly already got it. here is a nice simple common sense website to help you out greatly no matter where you go:
http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/default.aspx

Also the US state dept:
http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_1764.html

another handy site.
Good traveling Have fun!
