What in the closest airportfly into from shannon airport going to London City?

There are flights to Stansted, Luton & Gatwick via Ryanair. All of these airports are just outside London & would require a train ride into town - Luton goes to King's Cross, Gatwick goes to Victoria & the Stansted Express goes to Tottenham Hale & Liverpool Street Stations, all the trains connect with stations on the Underground.

Aer Lingus no longer does a direct route from Shannon to Heathrow but according to their website if you were prepared to fly via Dublin you could go to Heathrow - Heathrow is on the Piccadilly Line which cuts right through London.

There is a rumour that British Airways will be operating long haul flights from London City Airport with Shannon as a stopover sometimes in 2009 but no bookable flights are popping up on their website so far.

only direct flight to city airport would be from Dublin

you could go to gatwick and get the train at the airport (yes at the airport about 40 mins and you'll be in king's cross station which is a central hub and has the underground going all over london from there!

Kris......
I don't know whether you mean to fly into london city airport, but the nearest you can get to london via Shannon is into Stanstead airport in Essex,
