Id suggest taking a Ryan Air Flight from London to Dublin! The Ryan Air flights are wicked in-expensive! Just dont try to carry any luggage!

Temple Bar is an small area in Dublin. It's VERY touristy, but very very cute. Beautifully painted pubs, great restaurants, cutesty Oirish shops.. Streets are filled with activity and people I guess it's what people expect to see when they go to Ireland. It's very fun, it's very exciting.. but I didnt feel like it was 'real' Ireland.

My sister and I went down there for a night and we found lots and lots of hen parties. It was very crowded later in the evening. Pubs were expensive. And when my sis and I travel, part of the fun is mixing in with the locals, and honestly, we did not meet a single Irish person at the Temple Bar area! We did meet loads of other Americans, Polish, Danish, and a hilarious Swiss guy! We had a truly unforgettable night, but it wasnt "Ireland" if that makes any sense!

My advice is "Go" check it out, but keep it in perspective!

Temple bar is ******* awesome, if you looking for pubs, food and are a little bit on the strange side it's the place for you. i love the shops there.

hss holy head to dun laoghaire. temple bar is a fantastic nightlife and culture spot. just be careful walking home. women should get licenced taxi all the time.

Temple Bar is a Bar and a district. Temple Bar is in th Temple Bar district, lol. It is south of the Liffey. It's "borders" I guess would be south- Dame Street (from George Street to Westmoreland); north- Wellington and Aston Quay; east-George Street; west- Westmoreland Street. In Temple Bar you will find good pubs such as Isolde's, the Quays, Farringtons, Porterhouse. These all tend to be "large" pubs, very crowded at times. Smaller pubs will be outside of the city centre a wee bit, like Lower Mount Street, Baggot Street, streets off O'Connell on the Northside. If you do go to the "Temple Bar" get there early as it gets so crowded! Also try pubs north of Temple Bar like my old favs- Pravda and Zanzibar. Very cool, funky bars.

Take like Ryanair or something from Birmingham, You get cheap flights. I used to go to Liverpool from Dublin for like 50 pounds return.

Temple Bar is an area in Dublin City Centre that's become the nightlife centre of the city. Lost of art centres, galleries, restaurants, pubs and music venues. Excellent for tourists.

You fly from Birmingham from Dublin, or alternatively, take the ferry across to either Dublin port of Dun Laoghaire (that's Dun Leery to the uninitiated), then use public transport to get into the city centre and into Temple Bar.

Be warned - it's pricey! And a bit rough at the weekends! And don't try to get into pubs or clubs as a mixed group, they tend not to let you in.

Hi, Temple Bar is the place to be in Dublin for bars, i love Dublin and have booked to go back there in January, i have just looked on Ryanair and you can fly from Birmingham, just put in your dates you want to travel and the times of flight and prices come up, i have just looked for 17th Sept for 1 night and it came up at 1p per flight but with the airport taxes it is Â£20.00 each return , that is also the price i have got for January as well. At that price you can go for a day trip ( i did this in April). Take a look at the Ryanair website. Good Luck.Oh forgot i have booked an apartment 4 adults Â£21.75 each for 1 night. just type in Dublin Apartment on Mabbot St.

I live in Dublin and I walked through Temple Bar area yesterday and it was full of only tourists! So don't only go there when you visit Ireland unless you just want a load of highly priced pubs (drink prices differ from pub to pub and are invariably higher in Dublin city) and fun with lots of other tourists. As someone else said it is a small area.

Fly ryanair from birmingham, east midlands is probably the best way to get here. The airport is on the north side of Dublin and you can get into the city by a connecting bus. There are hotels around that area but you would want to check out availability on the web as they tend to be very busy.

i went to dublin in may and stayed in the Temple bar area, we flew from bristol to dublin, we then took a cab from outside the airport in to trmple bar itself (when taking a cab it should cost no more than 30 euros) , people say its over rated but its not it was absolutely brilliant, the night life was awesome and most bars are open till 4am some till 6am, the atmosphere was awesome there was no trouble at all, we didnt have to queue to get into pubs and clubs and the best thing of all was that when going to the bar you didnt have to wait for ages to be served, so believe me when people say its overated its not, go there yourself and make your own opinion of the place.
If you do go there check out a pub called 'oliver st john goggartys' it is absolutely bouncing in there

Hi, I am a Dub and to be honest , it is over priced in every way. food , beer, clubs etc.. Have a look during the day time as it is a totally different place than the hight. there are a lot of small indy type shops and cafes. try the famous BAD *** , a one off . Beer is RIP OFF .i SUPPSE IF IT IS YOUR FIRST TIME IT WOULD BE COOL.you wont meet a lot of natives as we go elsewhere . full of tourists .there are some good clubs . For a great night go up to Flannerys in camden street. an all sorts pub with great sounds , old and new no pretencious gits if you want to dress up ok if not ok . are lingus or ryanair . enjoy. paul

temple bar is like the drinking mecca in dublin . full of traditional pubs with great irish music and quite pricey drinks !it has some shops ,cultural areas etc but it is a bit of a tourist trap in that u will be overcharged for almost eveything. really enjoyed it there tho even tho we went on a tuesday which was relatively quiet.ur best route over is to fly direct . easier, cheaper and most convenient. hope u enjoy the craic!

I go at least 4 times a year to Ireland (My wife is irish), so it may be a help for you as I am not irish and still know quite well the place... In other words I ll not be buyest...
I think Temple Bar is over rated. It is not that large area, and it is very very touristic. They are very few good restaurants and pubs. What is interesting is to see in fact the people. This place is a kind of pseudo hippie place. Franckly go there for couple of hours, does not worth more.
That is my personal feeling of Temple Bar, some other people will tell you it is sooo great.. but well... :-) Not convienced

Its great,good atmosphere,recommend it.Fly or train to Liverpool,then over on the ferry to Ireland.
