Blarney Castle has a stone in it that is rumored to be used by numerous biblical characters. It was said to be brought to Ireland from the holy land by the prophet Jeremiah. The stone was presented by Robert the Bruce to Cormac McCarthy in 1314 in recognition of his support in the Battle of Bannockburn. It is a huge tourist attraction that has many visitors each year. It is considered good luck to kiss the blarney stone. |

the Blarney Stone at Blarney castle. You wait in a long line and then you lean backwards over a Castle battlement and kiss a spit covered rock that thousands of tourists have kissed before you. Supposedly you will get the Irish "gift of the gab." Its a super cheesy tourist trap- but its good craic :) |
