Ignoring your Cork comment, I have to say Tipperary. We have the Rock of Cashel, we make Bulmers/Magners, we have the best milk in Ireland, we have bogs and mountains and glens and lakes and caves and castles and broadband and motorways and Miss Macra and the garda training college and Tipp Institute and St Pat's ex-priests college (now training teachers) and a decent hurling team (no smart comments) and racehorses and Killinascully and crystal and cows and music festivals and Shane McGowan and loose women and we are the best barkeepers (ask any publican) and we have lovely water and a brilliant GAA stadium and former Olympians and good schools and Adi Roche and sturdy young farmers and clever business types and loads more.

We don't have a decent music scene or a decent hospital, that's the downside, but the rest make up for it.

Meg
I would have to say Mayo.

Mayo-
beautiful countryside with quaint cottages and lovely people and accent. Beautiful caves and fields and a lot of cows and sheep and a great coastline. Beautiful beaches and old fashioned cottages! Achill Island is gorgeoussss!!! I love Mayo!

hope I helped! [=

Co. Waterford- Waterford city is Irelands oldest-therefore FIRST city :) and also the "untaken city"
Have to disagree with priscilla and say waterford has the best milk in snowcream :)
We have blaas (type of bread) which ya cant get anywhere else, world famous waterford crystal, best cheese (kilmeaden), beautiful comeragh mountains, beautiful beaches like dunmore and tramore,
Gave the country great athletes in sean kelly and john treacy. Also Thomas Meaghar who bought the first irish tricolour from France to Ireland was from waterford.
And the best dubliners song is called 'Waterford Boys'

I'm with Priscilla on this one. Tipperary all the way. Don't forget the Galtee's, Nicky English, (we won't comment on boy george!), we do have Clonmel Hospital, which were very good to me when I stood on glass (I was very young and didn't see it!). Pure countryside, untouched, as I'm sure anyone trying to get planning permission will agree. Limerick being my adopted home, but the best thing in Limerick is the road to Tipp.

Laois! You want to get to Dublin you have to come through us. If you want to get from Galway to Dubline you have to come through us. If you travel from limerick to Dublin you have to come though Laois.Everything else in laois is fairly shite though
Sher we're the centre of the earth

DONEGAL!!!!
yea!
i agree with the one said this before me!
we have a great gaelic team with fantastic support.
We intoduced the world to Daniel O'Donnell! lol! (maybe i shuda left that one out!). We've had lots of other singers too.
I could sit here all day giveng reasons, but i wont...
I will point out that we have produced a lot of great soccer players too!
Aiden McGeady's parents are from here, and 2 of the best goalies ever lived are from here - Packie Bonnar and Shay Given.

Anywhere in Ireland is great though.

Mayo. No contest.
Easy going people, friendly people, some of the highest Leaving Cert scores come from Mayo every year without fail, Ashford Castle, Croagh Patrick, Clew Bay, Ceide Fields, Achill Island, Louis Walshe, Michael Davitt, Ciaran McDonald, Knock Shrine, Knock Airport......
Guaranteed craic!
