Hello again Driver,
Ah sure, the only place for the likes of ye is County GALWAY, Galway city has all the entertainment you will ever need, there is work for you there, and more shops than you can shake a shillelagh at, and not as excpensive as otrher parts of Ireland. Connemara is but a short drive away, on the road to Clifden, through countryside on country roads you will want to crawl along. beautiful, just beautiful. OK so in Summer these roads will have tourists on them including myself indeed. but a traffic jam is very rare, and you would have no trouble getting about at a rate of mph to suit you yourself, after all, what hurry is on you? we are surrounded by antiquities to honestly amaze you, but with a modrn style of life put on us by those that need it to be there. thus, are the places of employment.
Football, Rugby, Hurling, Fishing, Ha begad! we even have Horses racing at Galway too, ands we have never been known to turn away anybody that wants to be among us,
the life we lead in England, is greatly slowed and eased for us, when we return home for our fairly frequent trips home. sure, you'll love us, for every reason ye can put your mind at.
Awhole lot of tourist sites are here too, take them all in, in your first year or two, and after that, you too can smile and help other visitors to our country to get about, as by then, we wll have you all 'Irished-up' so to speak, and you'll be one of us in two shakes of your guinness glass, "Same Again is it?" Good Luck now, and Slainte' Richard...Tony M |

I personally like the west - wide open spaces, relatively unspoilt countryside, great scenery, nice towns and cities, and thriving albeit low-key arts scene in most places. |

Killarney Co.Kerry.
I lived there for 14 years, and absolutely loved living there.People in Killarney are very friendly.Killarney has a great night life,so many wonderful things to do and see if you love the outdoors, climb mountains, amazing walks,go to the lakes of Killarney, whether it's to go swimming in the summer, fishing,or to take a boat out and go for a picnic some where. If you have children, there are quite a few really good schools, and it's very safe for children to go out and play.Killarney has a great transport system. It has a bus station, train station, and an airport just a 10 minute drive away.( now I am feeling a little home sick for Killarney). |

hmmmmmm im not sure....... i live beside the Mourne Mountains in County Down and they are gorgeous, depends if you like nature and that kind of thing. (these were the inspiration for The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe)
if you prefer cities, Dublin is a lot more interesting than Belfast to be honest, and a lot more friendly
hope this helps, tell us your decision :)
good luck!

Bangor, Co. Down in Northern Ireland. We lived there for over 30 years. Only moved because our son moved to Florida. It is full of friendly people. Within easy reach of Belfast. The scenery in the North is stunning. Especially the Antrim coast road which leads up to the North Antrim coast. It really takes some beating. It is really the friendly folk that make it so special. |
