What is the best time of year to visit Ireland?

My sister and I are visiting relatives in Ireland next year. The problem is she hates the cold and I the heat. Is there a time that would suit both of us?

Don't worry about the heat - we don't get that much heat (actually we get no heat).
May or September would be mildest and nicest for both of you.
Ignore the idiots above me - there is no war (civil or otherwise)

Have a nice trip - e-mail me if there's anything else you'd like to know.
