What is the best way to transfer money between a person in Ireland and myself in the United States?

My boyfriend lives in Ireland and I live in the US. We are booking a vacation together and I am booking it with my credit card. We are trying to find a way in which he can send me money now instead of handing me a fist full of cash when he arrives. It would be nice if we didn't have to worry about a bunch of conversion fees, etc. (Euros to dollars). Are there any services out there that anyone recommends? Suggestions?

There are three major ways to send money transfers from the United States to someone in another country (international money transfers):

1.Cash Transfers
Western Union & MoneyGram

2.Money Orders
U.S. Postal Service & Banks

3.Banking Transfers
Checks, Foreign Drafts & Wire Transfers

If you are asking that question to me then my answer ia FIRST Through a BANK, SECOND .....WESTERN UNION

I would say that a credit transfer would be the best option. Tell you're boyfriend to go to his bank (with your branch and account number) and ask them to transfer whatever amount it is from his account to your account

Hope I helped
