There isn't much of a difference between the climates of all the cities, because it's such a small country. It does rain marginally more in Cork and Galway than it does in Dublin though. It's not dark during the day in any of the cities, unless it happens to be a very overcast winter's day.

The Garda Síochána is the police force, so they're still around. If you search "garda" in google images there are lots of pictures of the uniform.
