No, it's illegal to smoke in any enclosed place of work, including restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, clubs etc. It's fine to smoke in public, as long as you're outside. A lot of pubs have an outdoor smoking area that is often covered by a roof. Many restaurants also have covered outdoor areas where you can eat and smoke. About hotels: you wouldn't be able to smoke in the bar or restaurant, but you are allowed to smoke in your room.

There was a law brought out about two years ago that banned smoking in pubs restaurants and bars. It's allowed in hotel rooms but is banned in every other workplace. However publicians and restaurants built smoking shelters so people could smoke outside and some of these are very weel built and designed. Most of them will have the music pumped out into the shelter and during the summer you'll find the smoking area are more crowded then the pub or club indoors. Have fun x |

You cant smoke in pubs clubs or restaurants. You can smoke in your hotel room only.
Most pubs and clubs have outdoor smoking facilities that are sheltered to some extent,
The smoking facilities in pubs and clubs are very sociable areas where strangers chat to one another.
Its better than smoking in the pub because you will find you smoke less, and you dont have cigarette buns on your clothes, some pubs can be very crouded. |

the rules are no smoking in pubs clubs and restaurants. However if you stay away from the bigger cities you will find many happy smoking pubs. A lot of the publicans have a jar on the bar to which you contribute should they be raided. The fines are minimal and a few euro from each smoker is usually enough to cover it. |
