Well I am Irish so I kind of know about these things. The weather in Dublin is cold and damp this time of year. The cities are all packed because Christmas is just around the corner. If you're in the countryside you'll need to hire a car because rural transport sucks. The people are variable. Some are nice some aren't. There's a problem with racism but I think that only applies to people who move here. On the plus side we have some cool museums and art galleries. And the scenery in the countryside is fantastic. Especially down around Kerry. But its a good excuse for getting rat-arsed drunk because everyone else is doing it too! I hope that helps you decide.

Im from n.ireland and i think its great .The atmosphere is fantastic and the craic is great north and south of the boarder.A majority of the people are lovely but you can get some bad people who are racist, biggots and down right assholes but thats probably just up here,Waterford is a nice place as is donegal. i hope you enjoy your visit .
