What is the safest place to put money, for Tourists (plus Irish people) in Ireland?

Poem below explaining question.
Note is is a metaphor and is in relation to Vital Tourist Information.

:)

Everything is unsure now,
As the Depression lingers to be said,
Our problem being what is the best to put our cash to bed.

What is the safest place, before we tumble down?
Has to be a safe Haven,
Has to be one around.

I do not know the answer
But the things may collapse soon,
They cannot possibly survive,
Unless miracle is due.

So will the little red hen have it under a pillow?
Or in Money Buildings stay?
I wish I knew the answer
I will leave the best answer to-
a vote anyway
Unless a Troll appears,
Then I do not know what to say.

By Crazygirl

Cheers for the answers

I don't know what it is about me but as soon as I get my money each month it quickly leaves my account and goes into the till of any shop I come across.

I wish I was one of those people that could save, but sure, as they say, there's no pockets in a shroud. :)

irish guy
I would be happy to mind some of it for you..

Ahh but the interest rates are so low here in the UK that it is pointless trying to save, so we are attempting to pay great big extra lumps off the mortgage while we have the opportunity to do so...the less the mortgage is, then the less we officially have to pay...which can't be bad. Some of our money though will be going into your own economy later this year when we take a two week break in the Kerry area which makes a change from the Galway area last year!

Maybe one of those banks, you've seen them, people put the money in them, yeah the banks, you go 'can I put my money in' and they go 'yeah', the banks.

Personally, I would invest in Guinness.

Down with this sort of thing? Careful now.

Irish cutie!!

Well I'd say the banks are as bad as they can possibly go, but i wouldn't start throwing loads of money into them!

You should buy share in wind farming and all of those renewable energy's as they are becoming very popular, with global warming and all that!!

But the safest bet in my opinion is under the mattress, it can't go bust like the banks!!!
