5 hours to the east coast, 8 hours to the west coast, 10 hours to Hawaii (11 hours in summer).

Time zones are:
Eastern -5 hours
Central -6 hours
Mountain -7 hours
Pacific -8 hours
Alaska -9 hours
Hawaii-Aleutian -10 hours (the Aleutian Islands have daylight saving time, but Hawaii doesn't, so Hawaii is -11 hours in summer).

America is a big country. The east coast is closer to us here in Ireland then the west. Depends what part of America you are talking about as you will only get guess answers here. A few more details would help you to get better answers.

dlwm
depends on where in america you are talking about

Penfold
It depends where in the US. New York is 5 hours behind Dublin. Honolulu is 11 hours behing Dublin.

5 hours behind ireland if you are on the East Coast of the US, 8 hours if you are on the West (Pacific time zone). 10 or 11 if you are in Hawaii. There are differing time zones in the middle of the country as well (Central time zone).
