There is loads for you to see and do. Temple Bar is great craic but a bit expensive and full of tourists, but I can see why they like it. The locals tend to drink off Grafton Street and the little sides streets there.

'Cafe Bar Deli' on Georges St is a good place for a meal,(cheap and great beer) I sometimes drink in the Hairy Lemon near Drury Street, if your in your 20s go to Dakota Bar. But all the bars are good, you'll have a great time.

Do the Viking Splash tour too, but that doesn't go to Guinness. If you want to go there get the 78A bus from Aston Quay, it'll cost €1.50 one way. (you need exact fare to get on the buses) But you could nearly walk there from town.

Dalton... your answer is totally ridiculous - your clearly NOT Irish, please stop saying that you are...its insulting to actual Irish people

there are loads of good sights to see around Dublin .... Im from Waterford so I dont really know what the most popular sights are because I normally only go to Dublin for the shopping, airport, nights out or hurling matches in Croke park!

Temple bar is a great place to go out during the night, loads of pubs and nightclubs, theres always a buzz around there!

ill try to just mention things that others havent already :)
For history , you could check out Dublin Castle, Kilmainham jail,(or gaol as its spelt in ireland),and Christchurch cathedral (get some fish and chips in Leo Burdochs nearby). I recommend the guinness brewery as well, you get a free pint at the end, and theres a bar at the top with a great view of dublin.
Also phoenix park which is one of the largest parks in europe..you can rent out bikes, and you might see some wild deer there too.
Also Trinity college is the biggest uni in Ireland and houses the book of kells which is an ancient manuscript. Its drawings of the gospel.

For food you should try the winding stairs if you want to try some irish food. Its been voted the top restaurant in ireland before.

And for shopping, Grafton street. For nightlife temple bar is always pretty lively, but its expensive cos theres a lot of tourists there.

Lots and lots .... but bring plenty of money, you will need it.

it depends what day ur comin over. if its the wekend you'll be able to find somewhere to go in temple bar as there are plenty of people handin out flyers and stuf. but a personal favourite of mine is the porterhouse in temple bar. its right at the end, after fitzimons and it has live music at the weekend and also during the week. they brew ther own beer and the cocktails are fab!!!!they do food too, but never been there to eat, but it looks nice.it is absolutely huge, 3 floors and real old style! it isnt overly priced either.
nightclubs: if you want to experience the true irish style nightclub and i mean irish music, drunken people and messiness: copper face jacks on harcourt st. there are other nighclubs there too: d2 and krystle.both a bit more upmarket. but stayin in the temple bar area try out the purty kitchen. does nice food too and when the nightclub is open, the downstairs bar is still nice and quiet!
for food: try out captain america on grafton st. the food is nice and the cocktails are to die for.yummy! also tgi fridays is just off grafton st and its good too. if you want to go for a romantic meal, there are plenty of little restaurants iff most streets and if you ask anyone they will be happy to point u in the right direction.

go on tours:bus tours as you will see and be told everything you need. there is a tourist office just over by grafton st, which is a lovely walk with all the lovel shops surrounding it and plenty of little restauranst such as leon. the tourist office has plenty of info and you should be ablre to book tours through them and buy gifts here.

you have to go to the guiness museum, ive lived here all my life and have beeen a few times!its such a laugh!you also get o taste a pint of the black stuff in the highest bar in dublin!

relax in stephens green after you've done a bit of shoppin!get a coffee and just sit on the grass. you wil see it as it is always busy when the weather is good!

phoenix park is nice..,it has the zoo and the house of the president. its huge and worth a look at.

howth is lovely if the weather is nice.lovely seafood restaurants and plenty of bars!you can get the train our bus straight out from the city centre.

you will see the spire!you cant miss it!!!!its our new landmark, just a big metal pin beside the gpo(history at the site).

also, relax and watch the world go by from a restaurant when havin lunch!!!

enjoy your trip!!!

Lots of things! As some answerer's have said Temple Bar is a great place & a lot of tourists seem to like it there.. You should check out "Spirit" its a nightclub in Abbey Street if you like nightclubs thats a good one with 3 floors... Make sure you visit St Stephan's Green and take a ride on a horse and carriage up to Guinness's in James Street! It's really nice!... There's also a lot of museums, The Art museum, The animal Museum, definetly check out the Wax Museum at the top of O'Connells Street. Also there are Theartes In Abbey Street "The Abbey Theartre" where some of Irelands finest actors acted... Also try check out the Olympic (or The Olylmpia I get them mixed up!) its just off Georges street (anyone will tell you) they have some good concerts on in there I'm sure you might like it... You can also head up to Tara Street Train station buy a bus and rail ticket for the day and jump on the train and go out to Bray (seaside) it's nice there & if I'm not mistaken there's a big Carnival out there too.. On the way back you can jump off and take a look at Dun Laoirge & walk the long peir....then jump back onto the train and go right out to Howth! It's a really nice place (These are all beaches by the way!) I'm sure you'll have a lovely time as the weather is really good at the moment! If you want to go shopping for some cheap clothes for the summer check out Pennys in Henry Street its one of the cheapest shops in Dublin for clothes and accessorys! Have a great time!... :-)

Dalton D
