mainly the cost of living is sky rocketing and the housing market is causing some concerns at the moment.

Some taxes on car are absolutely incredible.

Otherwise, good place to live.

starrygirl
nothing.

There's really nothing wrong with this country, aside from growing gun crime in the Dublin area involving drug barons.

nothing wrong with us!
except maybe the crap weather, high prices and all the firms closing down and relocating to other countries...
that's bout it though : )

wait I just read the other answers-there is a huge problem with drugs and crime but our scenery isn't that bad! some fields are very nice to look at lol :)

I visited last year from California, staying mostly in Dublin. I found the tourists were having a great time, but the natives seemed to always be in a bit of a rush with serious expressions on their faces... almost like stereotypical stressed out New Yorkers. Is that the cause or the effect of the newly enriched Celtic Tiger economy?

Outside of Dublin people seemed more relaxed.

High taxes, no condoms?

weather is absolute crap and its a very expensive country to live but most of it still look old fashioned and rundown... it dosent equate. The scenery is not as great as everybody makes out ... its just fields with cows its hardly the grand canyon or the great barrier reef.. OVERRATED
