I would like to visit Ireland sometime .
But I don't get the whole religion war thing going on over there.
OK maybe it's not that bad now, but whats the deal anyway?

After travelling the world, both working in or travelling around, for 42 years, I found Ireland the most rude, ill-mannered, impolite, foul mouth and rip off country I've ever lived in and I lived there for four years.
If you think Ireland today is the "Quiet Man" of yesterday forget it.
Don't go for the usual two weeks and come back and say the kind of things I have read in these answers. You'll just be a victim of Tourist Spin. Live there or in any case, live anywhere for awhile and you'll think different.
