What is your opinion about the University of Limerick?

I am a college student in the U.S.A. (History major) who is planning to study abroad in Ireland; hopefully in summer 2010. I am interested in UL, but would like more personal opinions other than what their website can offer. Thank you very much!

U.L. is my college and its absolutely fantastic. you will have sooooooooooo much fun here! and limerick is the best city in ireland. so much going on all the time. and dont believe the media hype about it being dangerous. i've lived here for 20 years and i'd say its been about 8 years since ive seen violence. its always over-exxagerated in the media.

the university is a serious party filled atmosphere so its really on yourself to push yourself to go to lectures. i think thats a much better way to do it rather than forcing people to be in college all the time. we are adults after all.
i was doing new-media and english, but it got a bit ridiculous and i didnt attend much as the years went by. i'm going back in september to do language, literature and film. or psychology, depends on placements.

UL has a very good reputation, and it's a lively enough campus - not sure about during the summer, but definitely during the winter.

Limerick city has a buzzing student scene: there's UL, there's LIT (which includes the best Art College in Ireland) and there's Mary Immaculate College (known locally as 'Mary Eye') which concentrates on primary school teacher training but also does Arts courses, and there's what used to be known as Limerick Senior College but the name changed recently .... it's now known as Limerick College of Further Education.

A small city with four colleges, so Thursday nights are generally hopping in the city centre.

There once was a history major,
who had a bit of a wager,
to the internet she went,
but her mind was all bent,
for its not a very good gauger.

i might be going there next year.... limerick isn't a great city but the college is really good and has a very good reputation of producing quality students. however if you are planning on doing arts/history course id recommend galway (nuig) , not only does it deal more in the arts but the city is better too

Limerick city itself isnt that great but the college is suppose to be very good, excellent if your into sports too, best college in ireland for sports i do believe
