I know this might sound totally ignorant but if you are Irish you just know what makes it so special. I'm not going to repeat what the other answers said about our beautiful land and its history but Ireland is such a precious gem and be privleged to walk her soil. |

It's a physically beautiful country rich with history, tradition, culture and ancient mysteries, all uniquely Irish. It has been a quite countryside sort of place with farms and fields where it's easy to settle the nerves. Then it isn't far to the cities if you like that. Of course I love it, I'm Irish. My family came from County Meath. |

Hi HKer - Ireland is a beautiful country, rich in culture, tradition and resourcefulness. It is true that in the past Ireland's greatest export has been her people - but I see a change in that now, as high tech industries are taking root. The climate is lovely, and so are the Irish people. It is quite rural, for the most part. Check it out! |

Just maybe its because it is where most of us came from in our family history. I know my family came from Belfast Ireland back in the 1600's. And besides they say it is beautiful there. |

Because it is our country,What makes any Country what it is ,,It is the people If you visited a country where everyone punched you and spat on you as they passed by ,,You would think this is some fine country...Well when everyone you meet speaks pleasantly to you and is friendly and smiles at you and are helpful to you ,,Then this is a special country,,,Thus you have Ireland |

We're friendly, relaxed, and there are some beautiful beaches and tourist sights. Best of all, the roads are not so crowded as England, and while England has had floods this month, I was sunbathing nearly every day up in North Donegal!! Unpredictable, yes but it makes life kinda interesting!! ;o) |

the same reasons people in the past LEFT IRELAND in the first place:
1.to find better jobs
2.better education, thats free for all.
3.to live in a country where they can feel safe without having to own a gun.
4.to live in a country where the sun shines 365 days a year without fail (ok the last one i made up, lol) |
