*great shopping towns..eg Letterkenny, Ballybofey...
*really friendly locals
*traditional Irish pubs which usually have great personality and traditional music

I've only ever been up the North West so I'd say Glenveagh is defo a must ^^
various other forest parks + beaches aka Ards wud be one
Dunlewey is pretty cool, old museum place, farm, lake tour, horse rides, play area (even for adults, oh yes!)
http://www.dunleweycentre.com/
Letterkenny town is pretty good for shopping and food and the only cinema in the area for like a million miles!
I personally like outdoorsey stuff like forests and beaches AND climbin mountains

Ballyliffen, Culdaff, loads of great beaches, McGrorys in Culdaff is a MUST!

Dunfanaghy, Glenties, Dunree Fort - god there's loads to do and see.

County Donegal. I liked the Inishowen Peninsula very much, and Malin Head.

only been there once for a week. Only saw a beach and some houses and a road and trees and fields.

Bundoran in the south is touristy, but very good for nightlife, surfing and scenery.

Drive up to Sleive League - spectacular. Then up to Glenties and to the North-west, Falcarragh area. Stunning and barren.
Malin Head is great. Go to Culdaff, Moville and Greencastle. Quaint little towns. Then up to Malin Head itself - a real frontier.

Looking for golf? Then Ballyliffin is a super course.

Purple Goat
Try Rosnowlagh next Saturday.

I have gone several times to Donegal on holidays.
One does not just "see" Donegal, one feels, breathes and totally delights in a wonderful experience.
Mountain, boreen, moore, lake , woods, fishing. island visiting, ancient archaeology sites. weaving, the lilting accent of Gaelic and English speech the smell of burning peat herts.... Oh don't load your mind with expectations; it far exceed you fondest desires .. you can "get lost" .. and of course the craic!
