As an irish person the term paddy is a racial slur, Its like the N word we can use(Irish nationals only) it but you cant.
Do you go about insulting every nation or is it just the irish.
I think the irish americans need to keep their links to ireland alive and have more pride of being irish in their own country, and rediscover their heritage as it is good to have a touchstone |

I lived in Ireland for 14 years and I absolutely loved living there.Ireland itself is an amazing country,so many wonderful things to do and see, whether your living there or there on a holiday for a couple of weeks
I'm probably a little biased when it comes to the Irish as my husband and 3 children are Irish, but in general I find them to be very friendly down to earth people. |

I like Paddys. I spent 3 weeks in Ireland once, and everybody in both the south and the north was very friendly. |

I visited Dublin two years ago on New Year's Eve.
The people were extremely warm & friendly & the city is walkable, so you can get around independently.
We visited numerous pubs & found them to be family friendly with children having dinner with their parents. The live
entertainment was great with a fun-loving crowd.
We also joined a "literary pub crawl" which was educational & alot of fun.
Dublin was wonderful & I would recommend it to anyone.
