The people - especially those who had no choice for survival at home, and who made such a difference to their new communities, as well as helping the families they left behind to survive, with the money they sent home. Strong people, people to be proud of.
And of course we were world leaders with the smoking ban, and are hopefully healthier as a result. There are lots of other places copying us now.
