If you are flying between Ireland and the U.K. with Aer Lingus, then all you'll need is a valid photo I.D. This includes passport, driving licence, student ids, work ids, or even a bus pass. Once it has your name, your photo and it is in date.
However if you are flying with Ryanair then you must have a passport. |

I think you will need at least a full licence, especially with ryanair. Aer Lingus might accept it. I have used a full licence to travel to the UK with Ryanair, with no probs coming home to Ireland. Don't chance it ring the airline first! |

You are supposed to have official photo ID and so a passport. Some airlines are stricter than others. I think Ryanair insist on a passport but Aer Lingus let you away with photo ID but a provisional licence might be tricky. |

you need a passport my brother was goin to england last week and he forgot his passport, he tried showin them his license but they said they needed a passport, so he had to come home get his passport and catch a later flight |

I know that in Shannon you can use photo ID such as a drivers licence..but it will need to be a full licence. |

no, you need either a full license or a passport |

With Ryanair you need a passport. It is the only identification they accept. |

You can use any offical form of government id for flying between Ireland and the UK, although if you want to avoid any hassle, id bring my passport. |

You can fly out no problem
You may have to get the ferry back |

Yes, its a form of ID |

Depends on the airline.. (In terms of the law, you don't need any passport to travel between the UK and Ireland). |

ya i think you need full liscence, well it depends on the number of people on the plane, if there are over 100 passengers on the plane the airline may be uncomfortable letting you fly the plane on only a provisional liscence.
Personally i would feel pretty uncomfortable if i was on that plane and you only had a provisional liscence, in all fairness they give a provisional liscence to anyone, that theory test hardly prepares you to fly internationaly, in fact there are very few questions regarding flying procedure whatsoever.
seriously a provisional liscence should be just as good as a full liscence its not like you are going to be flying the plane its only for I.D purposes. |

As long as your licence is English or Irish, you'll be fine, I never bother taking my passport with me and last time I went my boyfriend only had a provisional licence on him, not sure if it's the same for all EU issued licences. but you should check with the airline/airport. |

yeah you can |

I would use a Passport as even if the Eirrean authorities let you on the plane there is no guarantee that the U.K. authorities will let you in to the country. This is the same vice versa. |
