When is it warm in Ireland and what is the general weather pattern there.?

I want to take my Mom to Ireland, but she can't stand cold weather. I want her to be comfortable and have a good time. What is the weather like in general and when is it warm. What are normal temps during warm months and is it warm there on St Patricks Day?

The weather in ireland is not as cold as say chicago or new york winters.
this year we had about one day of snow.
Sure it rains but i have been to florida and the rain (severity and duration) was a lot worse there than here.
Ireland is not that bad, in the grand scheme of things. The winters are warmer than continental europe, and the summers are not as hot that you cant go outside.
Its a temperate but comfortable climate.

I'm sure you've heard the phrase "as changeable as the weather" well thats Ireland for you.

In Dublin today it's blazing sunshine yet the weekend was the worst rain we've seen in ages yet it was sunshine in Tipperary!!! Easter when we expected rain and wind was glorious tropical weather countrywide - better than Spain no less!!

If your Mom doesn't like the cold Ireland may not be the place for her, or if she would really like to visit Ireland do so for a week then pop over to France or Spain for some well earned sunshine to finish off your holiday. Ireland's the best but you can't depend on the weather at any time of the year.

If you don't like cold weather, NEVER go to Ireland in fall or winter, and you should probably avoid spring as well. During the Spring, weather is never, warm, and is generally chilly to cold. In Summer, the weather can be quite nice with temps in the 70s, but it can still drop into the fifties. July and August are probably the warmest months, but I would avoid going in March, because it can be miserable: cold, wet, and miserable. Ireland's weather is quite strange, and no matter when you go, you should be prepared for any type of weather: hot, cold, sunny, cloudy, rainy, and everything in between.

I was there in July and August and the weather was absolutely beautiful! Sun rises really early and sets really late - If I recall correctly, it was something really crazy like 4:00-11:00. It was so much fun, lush a green, an amazing 6 weeks! Have fun.

Well im from ireland myself and the weather is so unpredictable like for instance yesterday it was lashing rain with thunder and lighting while today it reached temps of 18degrees C. However on the general scale of things June, July and possibly August are our hottest months. For the best weather in ireland u should go to Wexford also known as the sunny south east its very nice down there alot of the time. As for st patricks day its normaly very cold, dry but cold.

The best time if there is such a thing over here, July and August when the marching season is on the twelfth day parade in the north. The weather is lovely and sunny when its not raining sound silly but its true, bring some warm sweat shirts for the cooler days and a raincoat, the people are great and very help full especially in the south, where are you traveling to? as you will need two different currencies Euros for the south and £Stirling for the north there are plenty of banks and bureau de change if you need different money but its easier if you have it all to hand before you leave, also get all your money in cash as the banks will charge a fortune to change travelers cheques. On St Patricks it is the luck of the draw, if Patrick turns the dry side of the stone it will be dry if the wet side then?.

If you stay in the south, the weather is never really cold or hot, Summer lasts only a few weeks but the temps always stay around the 16 mark. It rarely snows in the south but the further north you go the colder it gets. Paddy's day is always warm as it is spring.
