Have never been in Ireland. However, I once saw some film of Dublin on TV many years ago [c1970s] and was quite astonished at how much of the city retained it's original Georgian buildings and other features. In particular, I was struck by the huge amount of original Georgian iron-work.

Most of the Georigian iron-work - railings etc., here in London was ripped out at the start of WW2 and probably melted down to make weapons with - who knows.

On the whole, I'd say the opinion of most people of coming to Ireland for the first time would be very good.

Meanwhile, it's your round. . . .

Lots of them say 'It's so green!'

Then they think, oh, it's a bit cold and damp here too.

Some like the food, some don't. Me personally, I suggest not looking for 'traditional' Irish restaurants, some pubs do the bacon and cabbage etc, but not many.
