When I think about Ireland I have an ache in my heart with a yearning to go back there. I have found that Ireland has the most friendliest people in the world and the craic I have had with them will forever stay in my mind. To visit the country where my grandfather came from is a memorable experience. It's hard to explain but once you get there, it gets into your blood. The people, the towns, the cities and the countryside leaves me with nothing but good memories. One can be critical about good and bad things in any country but personally I cannot find anything but love of the land of saints and scholars. |

I've never been to Ireland but I met many Irish during the time I lived in London. When I think of Ireland now, I will picture miles and miles of green fields, with occasionally one or two of cottages in the far distance, Irish music, Irish pubs and that famous Irish temper-- hot and furious , quick and short-lived, frankly speaking and no hypocrite. |

I dont think of the stereotypes - i think of my desceased Grandma, she was fully Irish. So i am part Irish. I am proud of my heritage and see no need to steroetype it and my friends think that as well! |

While the jokes are all about drunks, I think people generally like the Irish. I'm an Irish person, living in the US for nearly 20 years. A lot of people tell me that they love the Irish, they are generally known to be hard workers, educated, friendly and generous.
They do think that the food is very bland and are pleasantly surprised when they taste an Irish breakfast or chocolate. |

Well I'm completely Irish I have been living there my whole life.
The stereotype of us been all alcoholics is rubbish. I'm not an alcoholic and I do eat other things other than potatoes. That stereotype probably arose around the Great Famine when it was such a big part of our daily diet.
See I don't think bad about my own country. |
