Hello. - I have never heard of Galway.
What city is that here in the United States? Oh...I see. It is not located in the US. It is located in Ireland.
Have a nice day. :)

There is such a mix of pubs to go to in Galway. Quay Street is probably the most lively spot as most of the pubs are located there and are all very close to each other. It depends what you like. There are also a good few pubs that do traditional music. Think they are Taffs & O' Naughtons. Its a few years since I was out in Galway but always a great night. Have fun where ever you end up. |

The King's Head and Quay's pub are on Quay street and are my two favorites.
Right down the street is also one of the best pizza joints in the country, Fat Freddies. A good place to start the evening. |

O Galway, Galway...........how I miss you. It is def. one of the best cities for the craic......
I would start off at Eyre Square go to the Skeff, beautiful pub and it is huge, def. well worth a visit. Then head down Shop street, pop into Taffs for some traditional music, you can have abit of session in there, the Guinness is great!!! Onto Quay st. head to the Kings Head, has live bands on most nites and is always buzzing. Off Quay st (can't remember the street name) but you have the Front Door which can be entered on one street and exited on another. I haven't been to Galways in a few years, so street names have left me!!! Take a look into Dew Drop Inn (Miles Lee to the Locals), really traditional bar which is great during the Galway Races.
Central Park (CP's) local niteclub is your average niteclub nothing special but good for a boogie. The niteclub I loved when I lived there was The Warwick which is in Salthill, absolutely brilliant. It has a live band in one venue and then disco in another venue of the club, its huge and def. a place where you will meet the locals.......................mighty craic.
Pop into Davies Locker pub when your in Salthill and say hello to all my ex-work mates.............we always went there on a Fri nite when I worked in Galway.
Well hope this helps.............................. |

I recommend the King's Head, Monroe's, and An Pucan.
The King's Head is a great place to go when there is a sporting event on the tele, they show it on a movie screen. Monroe's has traditional music and lots of locals, and An Pucan has old men signing in an old rowboat.
Galway is a great young city, and where ever you end up you will have fun. The locals love to talk, so once they have your ear they will regale you with stories all night.
Make sure to stock at the Vineyard as well. It is a liquor store that makes its own ice cream. The Bailey's ice cream is fabulous and worth the stop. |
