Where can I get a cheap house in Ireland? |
I am looking for a 3-4 bed home, with parking, I dont mind it its semidetached as long as it is brick built (not timber frame)
I would like it to be near public transport and idealy have a large garden. I would only like to consider homes on the south side of dublin, ideally in D14 or D16. Also I dont want anything that was built after 1995.
Oh and at a max I am looking to pay around 120k for it. I figure I might have to low ball on some offers but with the market collapsing it shouldnt take too long.
Any ideas on areas on those locations. Additional Details Well I dont think I will get it this month, but I think by 2010/11 you will see Irish prices in that region. |

I checked www.daft.ie for Dublin with a top price of €200k. There was nothing in the 3-4 bed range for less than €249,950 in D16. There was just one property in D14 for €199,950. You could make a lower offer to begin with, but I can't see them biting for as low as your max. If you were to widen your area of interest, I found various properties in D24, D22 and D11 for €139,950 upwards. There was also one fire-damaged property for €80,000. Check the site for yourself. You might find exactly what you are looking for, even if it is a different area. |

Dublin house prices were overinflated by world standards, and are busy falling dramatically due to the credit crunch. But I doubt that they are going to fall to 120k - in South Dublin- anyway, and not for a 3-4 bedroom place, near public transport and with a large garden. What you have described is an ideal property and at 120k, that would even be cheap in South Africa.
sometimes I think people need to get a grip of where prices are heading, it might be bottoming out compared to where it was, but it really is just heading to its realistic levels and that is prices halving, not being stripped to a 5th of their highest value! |

loads of houses are up for sale and not selling so now is the time to buy!
but i would not buy straight away!
house prices are expected to drop by 40-60 % so if you wait for a little while you could get your house for alot cheaper! but already house are going for 100 000 less!!! |
