 Is it fair that Irish civil servants don't contribute anything to their pensions AND pay reduced PRSI?
Apparently if they were made to pay into their pension schemes the way that private sector workers have to, Euro 1.5 billion could be saved. That's a lot of hospital beds.

Where can I go to find a job in Ireland?

I am a us Soldier that is getting out of the army when i get back from Iraq next year. I am a mechanic, and my fiance wants to move to Ireland and I'd like to be able to make that happen for her.

Ireland has been hugely effected by Economic downturn so coming over here lookin for job could be difficult especially with no experience but if you get in contact with www.fas.ie they maybe able to help in getting u a trade job i.e Mechanic Carpenter etc.

With the recession it is extremely hard to get a job here at the moment, i suggest you wait a year or so before you attempt to travel here, not to mention the cost of living has also become very expensive.
But If you decide to travel anyway get in contact with FAS or look up the other sites suggested.

quite honestly, I would see if you could become a peace officer there, since you have military experience. You may have to wait a couple of years though, until you are a citizen, so they will let you work for their government.
