Where does the name Blakey show up the most in UK/Ireland?

never done geneaology but ancestors said we came from Ireland mid 19th century but those maps showing last names have it in s.w.
united kingdom so am curious if it's all over the place there or just in one "region" of u.k. or ireland ...thx

Why When How
There is no K or Y in the Irish alphabet so at most it is an Anglicised version of an irish name.

Having said that I don't believe it to be an irish name.

There is a place in England in Yorkshire called Blakey so I would suggest it is an English name.

Note the main peoples of England are Jutes, Angles, Saxons, Normans , Roman and Celts. I would suggest Blakey is a Saxon name.

I think you will find that Blakey is in fact an English name stemming from the name Blake or Black, the name generally gets changed with each branch of the the family as time and people move on (Name Evolution).

It's not Irish, I've never come across it in Ireland.
