Killarney and the Dingle Peninsula, mind you both places tend to be heaving during the summer months, so .....
West Cork is also nice. And Clare, and Galway and Mayo .... |

Two town that fit your exact descriptions are:
Westport, Mayo (won Irelands Tidiest Town like, 5 times, oerfect for tourists, with beaches, fields, mountains etc)
Killarney, Kerry (lovely town, has the Ring of Kerry etc..)
If you're looking for peace Dublin, Cork, Belfast, Galway, Limerick are NOT for you. |

I'd recommend the west coast - Galway, Clifden, Westport. Picturesque and not totally deserted - interesting places with enough people to share the banter, but not over-crowded like the cities. And close to the wild open spaces, if you want them too. |

Dingle Penninsula, you can't go far wrong or around Bantry Bay in the SW corner of Ireland. Beautiful scenery, deserted beaches but decent B&Bs and restaurants. |

Many places- i recommend County kerry-beautiful scenery there- Places like dingle bay-Lakes of killarney-Ardfert-Tralee all are beautiful places in county kerry.....Also some nice areas where i am from in county tipperary -Clonmel town is a nice spot Surrounded by the slievenamon mountains -You Can hike up the mountain to the holy cross up top and look down and see the whole town(which is quite large) more like a city -But you can see it all and it looks so small its a beautiful view..
There are many things to do in clonmel - its a busy town Good nightlife -Bowling clubs-pool-Lots of pubs-shopping-cafes-Everything you need really.
Another location is County kilkenny where i lived for a few years-beautiful City there -With a Busy nightlife and lots of things to do.. a good scenic location is the castle there ... But definetly for scenery county kerry wins .... But hey why not travel around the country?? get in all the sights :)There are many beautiful sights and great places all over the country.
edit; there are some nice scenic views in northern ireland too. but down here in the republic of ireland you get the best ;) |
