There are so many, it's totally dependent on where you want to go. If heading west, you could go to Cong (where the Quiet Man was filmed) and try Loch Mask, or there are the three lakes on the Shannon. The problem is finding a place to hire the boat, to which the solution probably is to look for fishing holidays but instead of fishing just row? Maybe take up fishing while you are here?

Anyway, enjoy your trip!

A beautiful lake is Lough Hyne in Baltimore, Co. Cork in the South of Ireland. It is one of only 2 marine reserves in Europe and is home to numerous types of rare marine species. An absolutely stunning salt water lake, it is a must when visiting Cork.

Also, the Lakes of Killarney in Co. Kerry make an amazing trip.
