Which is the best beach in Dublin?

This question was asked recently and my answer is this: My favourite beach near Dublin is Killiney Beach. It is very easy to access (Dart to Killiney), offers a breathtaking panorama of celebrity villas (Bono, Edge, Neil Jordan, Enya and the like), Sorrento Terrace, Dalkey Island, Bray and the Sugarloaf mountain and is nice to swim on. The only drawback is, depending on time of year, that the beach can be quite stoney... Also beware of the freak waves that appear about half an hour after the Dun Laoghaire ferry has shown on the horizon - it's the wake which washes up higher on the beach than normal. Many a towel has been lost that way... (I speak from experience.)

don't worry be happy!

Depends why your going to it! But if you want to go to a nice beach, dont go to dublin, go to donegal! And the irish sea is fine to swim in! not radioactive!!!!!!!!!!! Thousands of people swim sail and surf in it every year!!!! I would suggest buying a wetsuit though!

Would have to be in Killiney Bay. You wouldnt be the first to swim there upon one visit to nearby Dalkey at a purpose built swimming pier we noticed some older water lovers in various stages of swiming gear or lack of enjoying teh delights of teh Irish sea!

Your joking right? Most radioactive sea in the world and you wanna go swin in it.
Seriously, get on the dart, go south to Killiney-there's a lovely wee beach.
