Strange question. Perfeps you got confused because they sound similar. Iraq and Iran are two neighboring countries in the middle east.
Iran is non-Arabic (formerly Persia) and predominantly Shiite muslim. It is run by ayotollas who once decreed death to author Sulman Rushdie. It is also where our embassy was captured when President Carter was president. There was Iran-Contra arms deal scandal during Reagan presidency.
Iraq is the one we invaded to topple Saddam Hissain. It is Arabic and has Shiite, Suni, and Curd muslim population. Iraq fought a long war with Iran and then invaded Kwait. That caused first Gulf war. |
