Personally I don't think any of these even compare to Mr. Tommy Tiernan. He is an absolute legend. His jokes are just hilarious and the swearing just makes it ten times better. He has a really funny joke and it's about all the things that he wished he had said when he was in school.
"Tiernan, are you paying attention?
Yes sir, but not to you!"
"Tommy Tiernan, wipe that smirk off your face!
Why does it not suit me sir?"
"Would you like to share that joke with the rest of class?
I'd love to."
"Tommy Tiernan, get out! Not through the window, through the door like everyone else."
And another funny one about a fire alarm.
"I was in a pub in London recently and fire alarm went off. And I couldn't believe what happened. Everybody left! So I said why are you doing that? You could be in a pub in Galway made out of Christmas trees and petrol... between a fireworks factory and a remand centre for young criminals... at Halloween. And if a fire alarm went off ... sure you'd look for the fire. but if you didn't see it it didn't f***ing exsist. If it kept going off you'd start making jokes about it! Haha is that my phone?"
He is a legend and will always be one of the great comedians. |

I must say i've got a big soft spot for Dylan Moran and his unkempt ways.
His portrayal of Bernard Black in Black Books makes me want to spend evenings drinking red wine and smoking an endless stream of cigs. |
|

I should be doing something else
 |
What about Ardal O'Hanlon? |

Niall Tobin is still feckin hilarious.
Tiernan is brilliant, but you have to be in the mood for him and he's getting crasser with age.
Dylan Moran makes me laugh til I have wet little accidents. Dishonour and smurfs? Pure class.

No 1 Dara O' Briain
No 2 Tommy Tiernan.
Got to agree with you I also love the Panel. |

Surely its Dave Allen...(Is that who you meant Roddy?)
Dave was the 1st to crack a really funny but very rude joke about a nun on live BBC TV years ago. His show was unreal and hugely popular. |

Dylan Moran and Andrew Maxwell. Neil Delamere and Dara O'Briain are quite good too.
In my opinion Ed Byrne is usually only funny accidentally or when the others are messing with him...well once when they were saying people look like there pets and he said he had a pet johnny depp, that was good.
As for Tommy Tiernan, sometime he can be hilarious but really it's just like he stole Dylan Moran's act and made it less intelligent and more hyperactive.
Someone said Spike Milligan too, but he wasn't really Irish. |

Neil Delamere, Andrew Maxwell, Ed Byrne and Colin Murphy definitely!!!!!!!!
dara's ok but most of his laughs come from slagging good ideas from the rest of the Panel
as for that dermot whelan shite
such an unfunny bastard has not disgrace tv since it started
i wish he'd get off the Panel, he's turned me off it
and all tommy tiernan does is shout, scream and jump about the stage
and tell the same jokes
:(
can't stand him
but i'd tolerate him if it would mean whelan would go home!!!! |

I love colin murphy, neil delamare, Andrew Maxwell. Dara O'Briain and that guy dermot whelan, he's on the panel sometimes aswell he's really funny. I also like dylan moran, jason byrne (not too keen on ed byrne, he's funny but not the best) and tommy tiernan, it's hard to pick an overall favourite though.
probably neil delamare, he's the only one out of them all that I've seen perform live on stage and he's hilarious live. |

He's got a really fresh humour or something.....his shows are really relatable to Irish people
Actually, nearly all the comedians on the panel are hilarious....best thing RTE ever did

Put it this way:
Neil Delamere is a nerdy b'stard.
Andrew Maxwell is a solipsistic narcissistic dope.
Ed Byrne has had more sitcom failures than you've had hot dinners (anyone remember Sam's Game and The Cassidys?)
Colin Murphy does those stupid Harp adverts where he dresses up as a Polar Bear.
Dara O'Briain used to do Echo Island and hosts Mock The Week, which is the poor man's 'Have I Got News For You'
Ipso Facto the best Irish comedians are Cork's own Niall Tobin and the bould Tommy Tiernan.
