On the IarnrĂ³d Éireann website, it give the address as:

IarnrĂ³d Éireann,
Plunkett Station,
Terminus Street,
Waterford.

youre not in kilkenny the minute you go over the bridge, part of that is waterford. Im not sure where the dividing line is exactly, but the majority of council houses in ferrybank (which is over the bridge) are built by waterford council, not kilkenny.

Orla C
That may be the case, but it is known as Waterford Railway Station.

Waterford have been pushing the county boundary into Co. Kilkenny for years. They moved the border away from the river and up into Ferrybank in 1955 and it now runs behind the railway station, meaning the station is officially, though not historically, in Waterford.

Recently a 'Welcome to Waterford' sign was placed 3 miles into Kilkenny territory. There are ongoing battles between the two county councils about the building of a new roundabout on the main Dublin Rd into Waterford, and about further Waterford claims on Kilkenny ground. After the All-Ireland result, it could get nasty. Hurleys at dawn, anyone?

Plunkett Station is across the bridge on the north side of the Suir river, if that answers your question? Its the largest city in Ireland retianing its original Norse name!

a bit of a trick question, but it IS Waterford train station.
You are right it is not in the county of Waterford

Podge and Rodge Tribute Band
We know Waterford. They have an undergound rail system that's the envy of Europe.
